Conan Exiles Beta Patch 2.1.0 Adds Character Export, Continue Button, and Server Optimizations
A public beta update reshapes the first-login experience and long-requested appearance portability while trimming server overhead.
The August 2026 public beta patch for Conan Exiles (AppID 931180) arrives with a handful of changes drawn, per the announcement, from player feedback and play patterns.
What changed
- Character appearance export and import is now available from both the character creation screen and the in-game menu, allowing a saved look to transfer to a new character or a new server.
- A Continue button on the title screen returns players directly to their last session, restoring the character, mode, and server — available for dedicated servers and single-player.
- Encumbrance thresholds are restored to four stages at 50%, 75%, 90%, and 100% of carry capacity, replacing a version that only activated at full load.
- Dedicated servers now process fewer player movement packets on average, reducing server load.
- Physics-related memory allocations during server startup have been reduced.
- Level streaming in the Cyclopean Halls has been improved.
- The Headhunting event returns in Conan Exiles Enhanced for a limited time, offering a faction-based bounty hunting mode with a leaderboard (Khitan bounty hunters vs. Dogs of the Desert).
The encumbrance fix in particular restores a mechanic that had evidently been collapsed into a binary trigger — its return to four graduated stages reintroduces carry-weight tension that the single-threshold version had flattened. For players who move between servers or start fresh characters, appearance portability is the headline quality-of-life addition.
