DeepDig: Together's Builder Update adds placement system and 12 buildable items

The mine shifts from a hole you dig down to a structure you build up, with a full placement system drawn from player feedback.

DeepDig: Together

Wolf Studios' first content update for DeepDig: Together reframes the mine as a construction project, not just an excavation. The patch is described as built directly from player reviews and reports.

What changed

A real placement system arrives with ghost previews that follow your aim — green for valid placement, red for invalid. Crewmates can see your ghost in real time, enabling coordination (or argument) over voice chat before anything is committed. A dedicated build mode lets players remove or reposition anything constructed; pulling an item refunds whoever removes it.

The hotbar now displays all twelve buildable items at once, including those currently unaffordable, so the full scope of the mine's potential is always visible.

Twelve buildable items are introduced:

  • Platforms — one-way floors, jump-through from below, drop-through with down+jump. Destroyed by falling boulders. ($45 for 5)
  • Cushions — negate any fall damage, bounce on landing. ($105 for 3)
  • Signs — rotatable arrow markers in 45° steps. ($40 for 5)
  • Dirt — placeable fill for earthquake repairs or sealing gas paths; re-diggable, never restores ore. ($90 for 10)
  • Dynamite — destroys one cell of anything, including hard rock, bedrock, and boulders — the only item in the game that does so. 2.5-second fuse. ($130)
  • Lamps — permanent light in three sizes, self-bolting to floor, wall, or ceiling, no fuel required. ($55 / $150 / $320)
  • Elevator kits — 10, 20, and 30-floor variants that dig their own shafts on placement. ($490 / $780 / $1,050)

The source notes that the lantern "now starts small," suggesting light management has been rebalanced, though full details were cut from the available text.

For co-op crews, the update meaningfully expands what the mine can become between digs.
