DeepDig: Together

Dig deep with friends. Share a wallet and go as deep as you can. Mine ore, haul loot, and buy better drills, lights and ladders. Beware the dark - your lamp is all that stands between you and the gas pockets below. Something hums at the bottom. Just one more layer...

DeepDig: Together's Builder Update adds placement system and 12 buildable items

Wolf Studios' first content update for DeepDig: Together reframes the mine as a construction project, not just an excavation. The patch is described as built directly from player reviews and reports.

What changed

A real placement system arrives with ghost previews that follow your aim — green for valid placement, red for invalid. Crewmates can see your ghost in real time, enabling coordination (or argument) over voice chat before anything is committed. A dedicated build mode lets players remove or reposition anything constructed; pulling an item refunds whoever removes it.

The hotbar now displays all twelve buildable items at once, including those currently unaffordable, so the full scope of the mine's potential is always visible.

Twelve buildable items are introduced:

  • Platforms — one-way floors, jump-through from below, drop-through with down+jump. Destroyed by falling boulders. ($45 for 5)
  • Cushions — negate any fall damage, bounce on landing. ($105 for 3)
  • Signs — rotatable arrow markers in 45° steps. ($40 for 5)
  • Dirt — placeable fill for earthquake repairs or sealing gas paths; re-diggable, never restores ore. ($90 for 10)
  • Dynamite — destroys one cell of anything, including hard rock, bedrock, and boulders — the only item in the game that does so. 2.5-second fuse. ($130)
  • Lamps — permanent light in three sizes, self-bolting to floor, wall, or ceiling, no fuel required. ($55 / $150 / $320)
  • Elevator kits — 10, 20, and 30-floor variants that dig their own shafts on placement. ($490 / $780 / $1,050)

The source notes that the lantern "now starts small," suggesting light management has been rebalanced, though full details were cut from the available text.

For co-op crews, the update meaningfully expands what the mine can become between digs.

DeepDig: Together's Builder Update adds 12 placeable items and a ghost-preview system

Wolf Studios' first content update for DeepDig: Together redesigns how players interact with the mine, introducing a cooperative build layer on top of the existing dig loop.

What changed

A placement system with live crew feedback. Opening the build menu attaches a ghost preview to your aim — green for valid, red for invalid. Crucially, every crew member can see your ghost while you're aiming, making placement a collaborative (or at least arguable) act over voice chat.

A remove/move mode. Anything built can be pulled back out, with a refund going to whoever removes it. Ladders, previously permanent, can now be removed.

A twelve-slot hotbar that always displays all items, including those not yet affordable, so the full scope of what's buildable is always visible.

Twelve buildable items now in the game:

  • Platforms — one-way floors, mountable at top or bottom of a tile; smashable by falling boulders. ($45 for 5)
  • Cushions — negate any fall damage and bounce. ($105 for 3)
  • Signs — arrow markers rotatable in 45° steps. ($40 for 5)
  • Dirt — placeable fill for earthquake damage or gas path sealing; re-diggable, won't restore ore. ($90 for 10)
  • Dynamite — destroys one cell of anything, including hard rock, bedrock, and boulders; 2.5-second fuse. ($130)
  • Lamps — three sizes, bolt to any surface, permanent light with no upkeep. ($55 / $150 / $320)
  • Elevator kits — three depths (10, 20, 30 floors) that dig their own shafts on placement. ($490 / $780 / $1,050)

The update also changes the lantern — the source notes it "now starts small," suggesting light has been rebalanced as a resource, though details were cut off.

For crews willing to spend, the mine now has genuine infrastructure worth fighting over.
