Dub Together Patches Smart App Control Blocks, Crashes, and Microphone Failures

A September 5 update to Dub Together, authored by BananiYT, works through a substantial backlog of stability and usability problems spanning Windows compatibility, audio handling, the Pack Creator, and role assignment.

What changed

Digital signing

• Every file shipped with the game now carries a digital signature, resolving cases where Windows Smart App Control blocked launch entirely or silently prevented recording and export helpers from running.

Crash fixes

• Lobby crash when the player list or pack list rebuilt itself (e.g. after a kick or a new Workshop subscription)
• Crash when switching lines while a microphone change was in progress in the background
• Crashes on the podium and in the Pack Creator, attributed to a shared underlying cause
• Crash when the same Steam lobby was joined twice — possible when accepting an invite during startup

Microphone

• Automatic repair no longer disconnects a microphone that has just started working
• When the input is set to Default and Windows delivers silence, the game now auditions other inputs and keeps the one that produces audio
• Status messages now accurately report failure rather than falsely claiming success
• New hint displayed when another program is holding the microphone exclusively

Pack Creator and Workshop

• Packs now carry a language field set at creation time; the language code, line count, and role count are appended to the Workshop title and description on upload
• Pack names ending in a dot no longer produce a folder Windows cannot delete

Role selection

• The role list now scrolls, removing the need to resize the window to reach lower entries
• "Assign randomly" is now genuinely random; previously roles were distributed in strict rotation

Reports

• The error report window now respects the player's language; the reason line was previously always displayed in German

Taken together, the update removes several barriers that could stop the game from running at all on newer Windows configurations, while making Workshop packs meaningfully browsable for non-native speakers.
