Fisher Idle v1.0 Adds Hands-On Fishing, 100+ Species, and a Reeling Mini-Game
The idle fishing game's landmark update replaces passive standing with an active cast-and-reel system, a five-tier rarity structure, and a persistent collection journal.
Fisher Idle has reached v1.0 with what developer Bahamut Games calls its biggest update to date — one driven, per the announcement, by sustained player feedback. The headline addition is player-controlled fishing: rather than watching an automated fisher work the water, players now travel to the fishing spot, cast a line, wait for a bite, and complete a reaction-based reeling mini-game to land the catch.
What changed
- Player fishing is live — a cast & bite reaction system replaces idle-only catches
- 100+ unique fish species, each with its own appearance, size range, price, and catch rate
- 5 rarity tiers — Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary — each with a distinct frame color and catch odds
- Reeling mini-game — tap to fill a bar before the fish escapes; rarer fish resist harder, making failure possible
- Fish Collection journal — tracks every discovered species, personal size records, and total catches per fish; saved and viewable on Steam
- 3D fishing rod model with cast, bite, and catch animations
- Instant sell option from the result popup for immediate coin conversion
- Reworked result popup with rarity-colored frames and a "New Species Discovered!" banner for first-time catches
- Rebuilt reel bar as a color-coded slider (red to green) indicating fill progress
- Idle earnings continue running alongside active play
For players who stayed with Fisher Idle through early access, v1.0 converts the game's core loop from something watched into something played — while keeping the passive income stream intact.
