The developer behind I'm Just a Wall has pushed a substantial pre-launch update that touches nearly every layer of the game — visual presentation, mode mechanics, balance, and quality of life.
What changed
UI Revamp
- The in-game HUD (controls guide, transformation bar, scoreboard) is now semi-transparent to reduce visual obstruction.
- Text contrast and outlines have been rebalanced for readability on both bright and dark maps.
- The ESC menu and Settings window now share the title screen's wood-tone theme, with subtle transparency.
Escape Mode
- Ship materials no longer spawn at match start; they now air-drop via parachutes, giving Hiders time to hide before the material rush begins.
- A countdown timer shows how long until materials drop.
- Ship materials are now visible to Seekers as well.
- Default settings adjusted: Docks 2 → 3, Ship Materials 4 → 5, Seeker Wait Time 10 → 20 seconds.
- Material drop counts have been rebalanced to reduce map clutter.
Balance
- Hider movement speed has been increased, halving the speed gap between Hiders and Seekers.
- Default Seeker Wait Time set to 80 seconds for Classic and Infection modes.
Bug Fixes & QoL
- Fixed certain ship materials being unpickable.
- Resolved micro-stuttering on the title screen and frame-rate drops on the victory screen.
- Waiting lobbies now appear above in-progress matches in the room list.
- Mode filter tooltips added to the room list.
- A confirmation prompt now appears when reissuing account codes.
- The Account menu hides automatically when opening Settings mid-match.
Taken together, the changes suggest a deliberate effort to make chases feel competitive rather than foregone — and to ensure the interface stays out of the way while they unfold.
