Moshcave Exits Early Access with 1.0, Leaning Into Bullet Hell
The final release rebalances its core systems around a harder, more deliberate bullet-cancelling challenge — a meaningful shift from the game's earlier form.
Moshcave 1.0 is out, ending an Early Access period that author walfre describes as a gradual evolution toward a "more bullet hell experience with a vibrant design and style" while keeping the game's core progression system intact.
The central design goal for 1.0 was making the Force Spell and MP management genuinely essential rather than optional. In earlier versions, certain builds allowed players to sidestep these mechanics almost entirely. Now, enemy bullets are framed as the primary threat — more dangerous than the enemies themselves — and the ability to cancel most bullets with Force has been repositioned as a survival tool rather than a convenience.
What changed
- 13 Steam Achievements added; Steam Overlay is now fully functional
- New in-game Wiki/Info page accessible from the main menu, covering powerups, spells, bullets, and more
- Floor Leaderboard reset due to balance changes
- New simplified HUD toggle (press H during gameplay)
- Increased player acceleration speed
- New maximum stat caps: frequency spells (17), defense (20), force size (5)
- Adjusted bullet spawn counts for Dr. Mosh and standard pink/green bullets per floor
- Wider MP, HP, and Level HUD bars
- Fixed a bug where coins went uncollected after kills in later stages
- Minor additional bug fixes
- New trailer and screenshots added to the store page
For players who coasted through earlier builds on passive stat stacking, 1.0 is designed to close that route — Force is now load-bearing, and the floors are harder for it.
