Nimbit Frontier Launches in Early Access After Five Years of Development
The creature-nurturing game arrives with substantial day-one content and a concrete roadmap for its first major update later this year.
Nimbit Frontier, developed by megasploot and a collaborator credited as Mrs. Sploot, entered Steam Early Access on August 17, 2026, following five years of development and over a year of community playtesting through Discord.
The launch build is not a skeleton release. The developers describe more than 20 hours of content at the outset.
What's included at launch
- 3 biomes to explore
- 42 Nimbit species to discover and nurture
- 24 NPCs to meet
- An in-game bug reporting system accessible from the pause menu
For the first two weeks of Early Access, the team has stated their primary focus will be bug fixing rather than new content. A first major content update is then planned for late Q4 2026.
What the Q4 2026 update is planned to include
- Level cap raised to 70
- Expanded fishing progression, more quests, new sanctuary tier, more Sacred Tree wishes, more bots, and Outpost improvements
- More dog skills
- Heart Level 6, new Heart 6 scenes, rival meet, and birthdays
- An additional boss per biome, more artifacts, guns, dungeon rooms, and weather
- More hairstyles, furniture, décor, music, and habitat modules
The developers note explicitly that plans may shift.
For players who have been following the game through its playtesting period, Early Access represents the formal beginning of a development process that has already been shaped by community feedback — and, by the team's own framing, will continue to be.
