Jagex's August 5th update for Old School RuneScape delivers the first round of changes to Wyrmscraig while expanding Sailing with a long-anticipated activity: fishing from your own boat.
What changed
Wyrmscraig
- A shadow has been added beneath the Mad Angel to improve click accuracy during the encounter.
- The Mad Angel's pet is now the first entry in its Collection Log display.
- Other players' Golem Crafting sound effects are no longer audible across the island.
- Mortimer's dialogue now better explains the effects of his perks.
- Spelling errors in Mr Supplies Jnr's dialogue have been corrected.
Sailing
- Fishing while anchored on your boat is now possible; spots are 5×5 tiles, fixed in place, and unavailable while the boat is moving or locked into a facility.
- Sloops and Skiffs support rod fishing; the Raft supports harpoon, net, and lobster pot fishing.
- Fish can be stored in the Cargo Hold.
- The 'Teleport to Boat' spell has been added as a perk to the Max Cape.
- The Portal Nexus now supports teleporting to your Last Boat.
- Bounty Task descriptions now reflect correct quantities.
- Facility bottles on free-to-play worlds now remind players of their contents before destruction.
- Adamant keel has been added to the Sailing skill guide.
Blood Moon Rises
- The Maggot King's Speed Chaser Combat Achievement description has been clarified.
- Maggot King has been added to the in-game HiScores panel.
For players invested in Sailing, the addition of sea fishing closes a notable gap between land and maritime skilling, while the Max Cape teleport perk offers a small but practical quality-of-life gain for end-game characters.
