Scavland's first post-launch patch arrives on the same day the game's Early Access release confusion is still fresh — including an error on the Steam page that listed Simplified Chinese as a supported language when it wasn't ready.

Developer Lucasmml has since removed the language listing and issued a public apology to Chinese-speaking players, noting that the localization agency is still working on an official translation expected "within the next few weeks." In the meantime, a community-assembled unofficial translation is already functional in-game; details are posted in the game's Chinese Discussions forum.

What changed in 0.5.169

  • Explorer game mode — a new, less punishing mode focused on exploration and progression, with more forgiving combat, faster Money and Reputation gains from jobs, and equipment retention on death
  • Campfire healing — players can now heal at campfires
  • Larger Stash — described as "much bigger"
  • Doubled Stamina — across the board
  • New medical blueprints added
  • Broad balance pass covering survival systems, traders, armor, items, and mutants

The studio describes itself as a small independent team and cites a compressed release window as the reason both the Chinese localization and certain design rough edges weren't resolved before launch.

For players who found Scavland's early survival loop unforgiving, Explorer mode represents the most immediate practical change — removing equipment loss on death alone shifts the risk calculus considerably.
