Changes Unload, Remove Sight and Remove Muzzle now work on guns inside containers, your stash and corpses. Each magazine now remembers its ammo type, so reloading an empty magazine refills the same type (e.g. your sidearm stays on AP while your main gun uses FMJ). Dried Steak now needs Salt and it turns up more often in loot. Fixes Accepting Catching Current with a full backpack no longer loses Anatoly's Detector, it drops at your feet. Saves stuck without it get the Detector back on load. Other dialogue rewards also drop on the ground instead of being lost when your backpack is full. Clicking the Map tab while the map is open no longer breaks the map or brings the HUD back over the Journal. Leaving a dialogue while it is still opening now closes the dialogue screen. Controller: Take All (Left Stick) no longer switches your gun. Fixed an error when loading a save inside a bunker with an active job.

Update 0.8.0 ⚠️ Your existing saves are compatible, and this update includes the fix for corrupted saves. If your playthrough couldn't be loaded before, try loading it again. We do recommend starting a new game just so you can experience the new changes. This is another big one! Dogface is here with his own quest and fast travel, every gun now has staged reloads and inspect animations, armor penetration makes your ammo choice matter, containers use a brand new loot system, and AI has received a major overhaul. This update also brings everything we tested on the Experimental branch: the fix for corrupted saves, many fixes for soft locks in main quests, side quests and Jobs, and the return of faster projectile speeds. Thank you to everyone who tested it and sent us feedback. NEWNew languages: Polish, Turkish and Korean! Scavland is now localized in all three. Dogface: a new NPC with his own quest, On the Road. Dogface Rides (fast travel): after finishing On the Road, ask Dogface "I need a ride" at any Dogface stop on your Journal Map (Arcadia, the Mire, Sontse Station, Microrayon, North Pier and the Quarry Settlement). Rides with Dogface from the Quarry are free while he's still there. A stop becomes a destination once its place is on your Journal Map. Pick a destination, check the cost, ride time and Hunger/Thirst forecast on the Ride Ticket, and watch the bike travel the roads while time passes.NPC Icons: NPCs appear as pins on the Journal Map once you get close to them or talk to them. Zoom in and hover over a pin to see their name. Staged reloads for every gun, with new…

Scavland's Day One Patch Adds Explorer Mode, Campfire Healing, and a Localization Apology
Scavland's first post-launch patch arrives on the same day the game's Early Access release confusion is still fresh — including an error on the Steam page that listed Simplified Chinese as a supported language when it wasn't ready.
Developer Lucasmml has since removed the language listing and issued a public apology to Chinese-speaking players, noting that the localization agency is still working on an official translation expected "within the next few weeks." In the meantime, a community-assembled unofficial translation is already functional in-game; details are posted in the game's Chinese Discussions forum.
What changed in 0.5.169
Explorer game mode — a new, less punishing mode focused on exploration and progression, with more forgiving combat, faster Money and Reputation gains from jobs, and equipment retention on death
Campfire healing — players can now heal at campfires
The studio describes itself as a small independent team and cites a compressed release window as the reason both the Chinese localization and certain design rough edges weren't resolved before launch.
For players who found Scavland's early survival loop unforgiving, Explorer mode represents the most immediate practical change — removing equipment loss on death alone shifts the risk calculus considerably.
