ShipShaper: Falconeer Chronicles

A beta patch for ShipShaper: Falconeer Chronicles has been rolled out to all players following a day of internal testing, bringing a headline physics feature alongside a round of quality-of-life fixes.

What changed

  • Full physics toggle added in world mode: ships can now list, keel over, and sink. Stability is calculated from hull proportions, superstructures, gun weight, riggers, and related factors.
  • Middle hull themes no longer stay locked to the humb after selecting a whaleback bow — they revert to whatever theme was active beforehand.
  • Smoke particle effects have been remade as a lighter, properly lit variant that responds to the boat and sky lighting.
  • Medium and small emplacements are now physically smaller, with a wider scale range that allows them to shrink further.
  • Gafs have been lengthened at player request.
  • Rigger scaling has received an extra option for greater versatility.
  • Darktide foil spamming has been prevented.
  • Delete mode now deselects the hull first when clicking it, so subsequent deletion targets receive proper rollover behaviour.
  • Review reminders added, triggered on the third and fifth save, or the first time a ship is submitted — shown only once, and only if the player presses the prompt.
  • First-boot help menu now appears when no autosaves are detected.

The physics toggle is the patch's center of gravity: players who stack guns at the stern now have a mechanical reason to reconsider, and ship stability becomes a genuine design constraint rather than a cosmetic concern.
