Valve's seasonal event arrives with a full slate of community content and quietly clears a backlog of long-standing visual and model bugs.
Team Fortress 2's Summer 2026 update is live, applied automatically on next restart. The headline additions are community-built, spanning new maps, cosmetics, war paints, and taunts — alongside a set of targeted technical fixes credited to named community contributors.
What changed
New content
- 6 community maps: Dryfield, Camp Saxton, Shorelight, Redwood, Premuda, and Mojave
- Summer 2026 Cosmetic Case: 24 new community-contributed items; chance to award a taunt Unusualifier as a bonus
- 4 new taunts added to the Mann Co. Store: The Circuit Breaker, Buffoon's Bivouac, Faux-calization, and Friendly Fire
- 12 new Unusual effects: 7 for hats, 5 for taunts
- Summer 2026 War Paint Case: 10 new War Paints forming the Summer 2026 Collection; also has a chance to award a taunt Unusualifier
- All cosmetic and taunt cases (excluding crates) will drop Summer 2026 Unusual effects for the duration of the event, which runs through September 15th, 2026
Bug fixes (community-credited)
- Corrected bad alpha channels on The Creature's Grin, Rocket Operator, The Bountiful Bow, The Alternative Medicine Mann, The Candyman's Cap, Voodoo Juju's backpack icon, and the Pile of End of the Line Key Gifts' backpack icon
- Fixed the BLU-team "Neo Tokyo" warpaint alpha mismatch with RED
- Fixed Stat Clock models attaching incorrectly on dropped weapons, and Stat Clock values always showing '0' on world models
- Fixed intel carrier glow vanishing when Spy cloaks
- Fixed Silver Botkiller Mk.I cubemapping due to a VMT error
- General security and stability improvements
For players, the event offers a finite window — through mid-September — to chase Summer 2026 Unusual effects from cases, while a notable round of cosmetic rendering errors has been quietly resolved.
