Vermintide 2 Patch 6.12.0: Feast of Grimnir Returns with Troll Chief Rework
Fatshark's seasonal event is back with a meaningfully harder Troll Chief and a wave of crash fixes that suggest the previous build had some rough edges.
The Feast of Grimnir event has returned to Warhammer: Vermintide 2, running from August 25 to September 6. Players can access the mission by selecting the Weekly Event game mode on the Adventure map, with completion feeding into repeatable Event Quests in Okri's Book — rewarding shillings and chests. Time-limited cosmetics from previous iterations of the event are available in Lohner's Emporium of Wonders for shillings.
What changed in Patch 6.12.0
Feast of Grimnir / Troll Chief
- Portrait frame updated to better reflect the Troll Chief's chieftain status
- Boss phase information now displayed similarly to grudge marks
- Troll Chief now uses 'Lord' damage reduction rather than 'Boss'; max health lowered to compensate, with the net result being a harder fight
- Troll Chief health increased by approximately 15% in Cataclysm 3
Bug fixes
- Fixed a crash when firewall software blocks Twitch server connections
- Fixed two Necromancer skeleton-related crashes and a bug allowing multiple sacrifices of the same skeleton under high latency
- Fixed several unlocalized strings in the equipment customization view
- Fixed a crash that occurred specifically on Mondays when closing the Weekly expedition view during a refresh
- Fixed a crash when interacting with a Keep painting near a seasonal keep change
- Additional fixes applied to the Skittergate invincibility issue
- Fixed a crash when receiving a backend reward while running an older game version
- Fixed lower-than-intended glow intensity on runed illusions for Kerillian's Longbow
The Troll Chief changes meaningfully raise the ceiling on the event's difficulty — particularly at Cataclysm 3 — while the patch's lengthy fix list addresses several crashes that had apparently persisted across prior builds.
