War Thunder 'It's Fixed! #117' Patches HUD Rockets and Missile Guidance

A batch of bug fixes addresses two distinct but consequential weapon-system errors that could cause missiles to miss or fail to detonate.

Published on 12 August 2026, the 117th entry in Gaijin's ongoing "It's Fixed!" series covers corrections made to War Thunder over the preceding two weeks. The full changelog is available on the developer's website; what follows covers the specifics disclosed in this announcement.

What changed

Weapons Launch Side Indicator

  • Aircraft capable of carrying two rockets per hardpoint could display the wrong launch-side indicator in the top-left HUD corner.
  • The visual weapon selector at the bottom of the screen was also affected by the same incorrect information.
  • Game mechanics already prevented the upper rocket from firing before the lower one was released, but the UI logic did not account for this restriction, producing a periodic mismatch between what the interface showed and what would actually happen.
  • The fix required corrections in two separate code locations, one for each display element.

Erratic Missile Behavior

  • Anti-radiation missiles (ARMs) were introduced alongside a new Electronic Support Measures (ESM) passive sensor mode intended exclusively for guiding ARMs.
  • A coding error allowed the ESM scan area to interfere with semi-active radar homing missiles: if a target fell outside the ESM's working angles, those missiles would drop to inertial and data-link guidance and potentially miss.
  • A second, separate error in proximity fuze logic caused detonation timing to be calculated from the model's center point rather than the fuselage location that triggered the sensor, introducing an excessive delay and reducing lethality even on hits that connected.

Together, these corrections restore reliable parity between what War Thunder's interface promises and what its weapon systems actually deliver.
