Sunkenland v0.8.55 Overhauels Ship Combat and Fixes Multiplayer Bugs
The August 25 update to the post-apocalyptic survival title Sunkenland arrives as a tightly scoped patch, with its headline work concentrated on naval combat and network stability.
What changed
Ship combat and AI
- Ship AI behavior has been improved.
- Ship-mounted weapons now use a multi-factor targeting system: distance weighting, nighttime weighting, and focus-fire weighting are all new inputs.
- A target-loss rule drops a submerged target once it descends beyond 8 meters — a mechanic that adds a tactical dimension to underwater evasion.
Network and performance
- Network connections and scene loading have been optimized to reduce timeout problems between hosts and clients.
Bug fixes
- Crafting at a Stove or Ammunition Bench could lose all but the first item type after a save-reload cycle; this is resolved.
- Weapon-crafting achievement progress was only being recorded for the host in multiplayer sessions — now counts for all players.
- Fish Traps, Shipyards, and other structures could not be placed on water inside a captured Military Port; fixed.
- Buildings could occasionally lose health without cause; fixed.
- Several issues with the Character Save Recovery interface have been addressed.
- Players could become stuck inside buildings on Radio Island; fixed.
Taken together, the targeting overhaul meaningfully expands naval tactics, while the multiplayer achievement fix corrects a progression disparity that had quietly penalized co-op players since it was introduced.
