Royalty Free-For-All 1.0.8 Rebalances Four Characters and Fixes Crashes
Version 1.0.8 of Royalty Free-For-All arrives with developer aaaagamedev describing it as a set of "corrections to bring the game more in line with our vision" — modest language for a patch that touches four characters and resolves at least five distinct crash conditions.
What changed
Lancelot
- Air Special: Last hit knockback growth raised from 0.2 to 0.4; launch angle tightened from 70 to 65.
Nessie (the most heavily revised character)
- Ground Special bubble now pops when Nessie herself is hit.
- Initial bubble trap no longer deals damage (previously 6%).
- Bubble trap duration reduced: old scaling was 45–180 frames over 0–135 damage; new scaling is 30–120 frames over 0–180 damage.
- Grab whiff ending lag increased by 10 frames.
- Initial grab hitbox shrunk and moved inward; a second hitbox was adjusted to prevent new deadzones.
- Fixed a crash when a character KO'd by max damage was inside the bubble.
Quick Brown Fox
- Ground Special can now be wall teched.
Sakura
- Air Weak Side: hitbox enlarged.
- Air Weak Up: split into an 8-damage sweetspot (front, unchanged behavior) and a 6-damage sourspot (behind, launches at 110 degrees).
- Air Weak Down: sweetspot base knockback increased, angle shifted from 295 to 290; sourspot hitbox enlarged without affecting sweetspot access.
Sweeney Todd
- Air Weak: new 5-damage, low-knockback hitbox added to the upper area of the attack.
Crash fixes
- Projectile connecting after its source character was already gone.
- Grabbing a Break the Targets object at the exact moment the grab ended.
- Palette changes on character select with no character selected.
- Cycling a menu setting with only one available option.
Nessie players in particular will need to rethink bubble-trap setups, while Sakura gains meaningful coverage behind her on the up aerial.
