Catch Flex Launches Full Release: Camera-Based Rhythm Game, No Hardware Required
Catch Flex, developed by Vilegacy LLC, is out now — a rhythm game that uses a standard camera or smartphone to track full-body movement. No VR headset, gamepad, or wearables are required.
The game skips Early Access and ships with every planned feature already in place.
What's included at launch
- Vol. 1: Ten hand-charted tracks spanning house, electro, and techno at 96–150 BPM
- Six gameplay elements: Cut, Catch, Kick, Stomp, Slide, and Dodge — each demanding a distinct physical motion
- Split-screen Versus: Local head-to-head on one screen; one copy covers both players, and the second player only needs their own camera or phone
- Global leaderboards: One per track
- Ten achievements, described as not uniformly easy
- Custom level loading accessible directly from the main menu
- Browser-based level editor at editor.catchflex.com — no installation needed, with in-game testing via Creator Mode
- Free phone controller app at controller.catchflex.com, connecting over Wi-Fi for low-latency camera input
- Steam Deck support via the phone app as camera; a TV connection is recommended for better motion readability
- Updated demo offering the first track in full with no time limit
- Launch discount: 10% off until September 12
For players without dedicated peripherals, Catch Flex represents a relatively rare proposition: a physically demanding rhythm game that requires only a camera and sufficient floor space.
