1666: Amsterdam Update 0.2.1 Brings Quick Start and a Wave of Bug Fixes
Two weeks after its early access launch, 1666: Amsterdam has received its first meaningful update. Patch 0.2.1, published on 14 September 2026 by YsbrydPicsel, arrives with one new feature and a substantial list of corrections across UI, world navigation, combat, controls, and audio.
What changed
New feature
- Quick Start — unlocked after reaching Esbat 1, this main menu option begins a new game with the prologue skipped, dropping players directly into the morning of Esbat 1 with a pre-selected Bateratze and starter inventory.
Bug fixes — a selection
- Visual and audio cues added to ability coffers and cabinets
- A possible dead end in Elzevir's house has been resolved
- Enemies could stop attacking altogether; that is now fixed
- Players could lose control of Noa during combat or lose camera control when cancelling a spell cast — both addressed
- Noa could use the Neutralize ability through walls; this is no longer possible
- The Decoy potion no longer triggers combat on its own, though it does max out suspicion
- Multiple crashes fixed
- Frame rate and memory optimizations applied
- Audio occlusion issues and a distortion problem that emerged during long play sessions have been corrected
The patch suggests the team is moving quickly on the roughest edges of the launch build — particularly the combat loss-of-control bugs and crashes — which should make early access sessions meaningfully more stable for players already in the canals of Amsterdam.
