Cthulhu's Reach: Devil Reef Patch 1.0.6 Fixes Stability, Balance, and a Versioning Mix-Up
A corrective patch addresses four crash-prone stability issues, several gameplay inconsistencies, and cleans up a run of mislabeled version numbers that confused the update history.
Developer Perucci opened the 1.0.6 announcement with an unusual admission: the previous four hotfixes were labeled 1.2 through 1.5 when they should have read 1.0.2 through 1.0.5. No content was skipped or altered — the numbering was simply wrong. The studio has committed to the correct 1.0.x pattern going forward.
The patch itself covers three areas.
What changed
Stability
- Fixed an input-system error triggered by equipping a weapon while inside the Hut
- Guarded the Statistics Manager against a null reference error during run transitions
- Fixed an occasional null reference error on clients when counting collected Dagonites
- Resolved a rare black-screen softlock caused by a lingering loading screen state
Gameplay & Balance
- Tide Priest's Dagger and Ritual Bone of Striking received behavior fixes
- Anglerfish Eye is now easier to build toward its damage cap
- Glass Cannon and Condemned now correctly return health proportional to the amount taken
- Minor Bleed's stacking logic has been corrected so it no longer stacks when it shouldn't
- Fixed an upgradable-stat error that could prevent certain items from being picked up
- Fixed the Rifle discarding attack context modifications
UI & Incantations
- Fixed an initialization issue with Incantation Buttons after a state handling refactor
- Corrected a wrong sprite on the Eldritch Incantation Button in the Diary holdings page
- Restored a missing badge object on the Incantation prefab
- Added tooltip connections to Incantations (note: the source text is truncated here)
Two of the gameplay fixes are credited to community members GoodOlRusty and MrWhitefolks, signaling that player reports are actively shaping the patch cycle. For anyone who hit the black-screen softlock or found health-return abilities behaving erratically, this update directly resolves both.
