With update 10.2.0 approaching live release, the Dead by Daylight development team has outlined which PTB perk changes are being revised and which are being kept — or reverted — as-is.

What changed between PTB and Live

  • Shoulder the Burden — The deactivation condition that previously triggered for all Survivors after a single use has been removed. The team cited concerns about solo players lacking the communication tools to coordinate around that limitation.
  • This is Not Happening — The Great basic Skill Check zone increase has been cut. The team noted concerns about its interaction with Hyperfocus as the reason for the removal.
  • Dark Arrogance — The attack cooldown no longer applies to successful hits, only to missed and obstructed attacks. On the PTB the cooldown covered all attack outcomes, which the team acknowledged was shortening chases too aggressively.

What stays the same

  • Windows of Opportunity — Retains its PTB changes despite community concerns about the impact on newer players. The team stated they believe the perk was overshadowing others and intends for broader survivor perk improvements to compensate.
  • Borrowed Time — Reverted to its current Live iteration. The PTB version explored changes that were ultimately not carried forward, though the source text on this point is incomplete.

For players, the result is a live patch shaped meaningfully by PTB feedback on perk balance, with the team drawing a clear line between changes it was willing to walk back and those it considers settled.
