HELLDIVERS™ 2

What changed

Patch 7.0.0, titled Devoid of Liberty and published 12 August 2026, moves HELLDIVERS™ 2's ongoing war toward a location the game calls the Void — described as a new biome in which the environment warps everything it touches.

New Illuminate enemies emerge from the Void:

  • The Crusher — a heavily armoured enemy capable of regenerating health while absorbing damage, requiring sustained, unbroken pressure to bring down.
  • The Wretch — a nimble, agile opponent that can dodge and leap toward players, targeting their weapons as a priority.

SEAF joins the fight on the surface:

  • Super Earth Armed Forces platoons can now appear as a planet modifier, fighting alongside players during missions.
  • SEAF units bring new tools into the field, including Stim Pistols and Heavy Machine Guns, among others noted in the source.

Rank ceiling raised:

  • Players can now progress through all 300 ranks of security access and privileges, up from the previous cap.

For players, the update represents a meaningful structural shift: allied NPC forces now actively participate in missions rather than existing as lore dressing, while two new enemy archetypes demand distinct tactical responses — sustained aggression against the Crusher, precision and speed against the Wretch.
