HellSlave II's Mammon Path Turns Your Shield Into a Weapon

In HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon, solo developer Baptiste has detailed the Mammon Demonic Path — one of six permanent power sets players can pledge to after clearing the game's first dungeon.

The choice of Demonic Path is locked in once made. It layers a fixed spell set on top of the player's base class and persists for the remainder of a run. The six available paths are Satan, Leviathan, Mammon, Baal, Asmodeus, and Belzebub.

What Mammon's path offers

Described as "the emperor" of the six options, Mammon is framed as a magic-focused, defensively anchored build that converts durability into damage output. His spell set consists of five abilities:

• Tyrant's Lightning Bolt — damage scales with the player's current shield points
• Fascination — damage scales with resistance and armor points
• Golden Shield of Mammon — grants shield points equal to a portion of damage dealt
• Supreme Execution — if the target is killed, splash magic damage hits all remaining enemies
• Crushing the Weak — applies fatigue to low-health targets
• Destruction of the Idle — damage increases for every second of fatigue on the target

The interplay is deliberate: Golden Shield of Mammon feeds Tyrant's Lightning Bolt, while Crushing the Weak and Destruction of the Idle create a fatigue loop that degrades enemies the longer they survive.

For players drawn to tanky, escalating builds that punish enemies for enduring rather than for attacking, Mammon appears to be the path of choice.
