War Thunder's update 2.57.1.29, published 16 July 2026, is a targeted maintenance patch touching aircraft systems, the battle interface, and rendering.
What changed
Aircraft
- Right-clicking an aiming point on the tactical map now opens a context menu listing all weapons available for linking; munition counts are adjusted with LMB (increase) and RMB (decrease). A corresponding hint appears to the right of the map.
- A bug that restricted the aiming point mechanic to loadouts carrying GNSS-guided munitions — rather than enabling it for any aircraft capable of carrying them — has been fixed.
- J-10A and J-10C: excessive turning during maneuvers that made wing snaps more likely has been corrected.
Interface
- The chat window in battles was gradually shrinking in width; that has been fixed.
- The full tank battle area and general battle area tactical maps were unviewable when zoomed in while piloting an aircraft in Ground Battles; now fixed.
- A typo in the Spanish localization of the wager description has been corrected.
Graphics
- A lighting error where outdated sky data caused scenes to render darker than intended has been resolved.
- Ship shadows in Naval Battles flickered on the "Low" Shadow Quality setting; that flicker is gone.
For players who fly multirole aircraft in Ground Battles, the weapon-linking fix is the most substantive change — it removes an artificial equipment restriction and gives the tactical map context menu a properly documented control scheme.
