Big Walk 1.4.10 and 1.4.9 Patch Notes: Network, Audio, and Session Fixes
Two successive patches address multiplayer stability, voice dropout, and a handful of collision and challenge bugs that were quietly undermining cooperative sessions.
Stuart's back-to-back patch notes for Big Walk cover a range of fixes aimed squarely at the game's multiplayer foundations.
What changed in 1.4.10
- Improvements to network connection and stability overall
- Fixed a bug where the server could stop responding after a player disconnects
- Error messages for network failures are now more specific
- The host and join menu will now surface warnings when connection issues are detected
- Sound changes to two unnamed sound effects (one adjusted in character, one fixed for a cut-off at its start)
- Voice stability improved — player voice chat should cut out less frequently
What changed in 1.4.9
- Session passwords are now required when starting a game
- Two new settings added: Invert Look X and Frame Rate Limit
- Vsync is now enabled by default, with a new half-vsync option that locks to half the normal vsync framerate
- Better protection against potential save data loss
- Reduced the likelihood of clipping through certain walls
- Fixed a missing collider in one challenge
- Fixed completed challenges occasionally requiring re-completion after a reload
- Fixed two players being able to pass through a turnstile simultaneously
- Fixed a crash-like state triggered when a player disconnected while being carried
The developer notes that a full version history is maintained at bigwalk.game/history and that the next patch is already in progress.
Taken together, these two updates meaningfully tighten the cooperative experience — mandatory session passwords and save-data safeguards in particular suggest the team is taking session integrity seriously.
