MOLDRISE

MOLDRISE, the grungy roguelike from developer Picster, has received its 1.0.3 patch — a consolidation of two versions' worth of changes.

What changed

Control rebinds are now available in the settings menu, a feature requested by players and planned before release but not ready in time.

The Pizza Hawaii event has been reworked. Its dialog and death message have been rewritten to feel more embedded in the game world rather than directed at the player. The associated achievement has also been reworded.

The Elevator Key — previously described as relatively easy to obtain — now requires more effort to acquire, with the intent of making the process more interesting alongside being more challenging.

Several bugs have been fixed:

  • Vending machine talk sound played twice
  • Vending machine on the 20th floor mishandled its inventory
  • Restarting a run multiple times caused a compounding performance hit
  • The Roof ending and Stairs Hallucination both had geometry gaps that could drop the player into an infinite fall
  • Incorrect button hint in the Ideas Tutorial
  • Audio crackling on certain devices (fix claimed, confirmation still being gathered)

Audio improvements include reduced volume on the Drinking Fountain's boom effect and the intro video sequence. Seen dialog options are now slightly more transparent. Kenney's Input Prompts have been added to the licenses.

Taken together, the patch suggests a developer actively triaging early community feedback — the kind of rapid post-launch iteration that tends to define whether a small release finds its footing.
