Predecessor Update 1.16 Adds Hero Scarlett, New Eternals, and Brawl Mode Return
The Aegis of Dawn update brings a new Offlaner with a distinctive energy-based kit, four Eternals, new skins, and a returning limited mode.
What changed
Update 1.16, titled Aegis of Dawn, is live for Predecessor. The headline addition is Scarlett, a new Offlaner whose lore frames her as a blade-wielding champion searching for a cure to a curse afflicting her partner. She fights with a rapier and a chain lantern.
Her defining mechanic is an energy system that replaces the standard mana model:
- Base Energy: 200, with no per-level growth
- Energy regenerates at 10 per second
- Takedowns restore 100 Energy
- Her final basic attack in a chain restores 5 Energy on hit (10 against enemy heroes)
- Empowered Cindara restores 35 / 45 / 55 Energy (at levels 1, 7, and 13) on hitting a hero or camp leader
- First Intent restores 50 Energy (source text cuts off here)
- She also converts Bonus Mana into Physical Power at a rate of 1 power per 40 Bonus Mana
Beyond Scarlett, the update includes four new Eternals, an unspecified number of new skins, and the return of Brawl Mode. No further mechanical detail on those additions appears in the source.
For players invested in the Offlane, Scarlett's resource design — self-sustaining through combat rather than item-dependent mana — suggests a distinct playstyle that rewards aggressive, takedown-focused engagement.
