War Thunder's Scimitar Strike Event Offers British Light Tank as Reward
A time-limited ground vehicle event running from July 22 to August 5 puts a Rank VI British reconnaissance tank within reach of mission-point grinders.
War Thunder's latest event centres on the Scimitar Mk.2, an upgraded version of the British Scimitar light reconnaissance vehicle and part of the storied CVR(T) family — a lineage of combat reconnaissance vehicles whose names, by tradition, all begin with "S".
What changed / what's on offer
- Scimitar Mk.2 — an Event Vehicle Light Tank for Great Britain at Rank VI, featuring a new turret, composite armour elements, slat armour, and a new diesel engine to offset added weight; core traits of high speed, good reverse speed, and a 30 mm automatic cannon are retained
- Two decals: "Emblem of the 16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers" and "Emblem of the Household Cavalry Regiment"
- "Shamshir" tank decoration
- A reward chest with randomised contents including Silver Lions (50,000–100,000), Silver Lion and Research Point boosters, random Wagers and Orders, Universal Backups (1–3), a random camouflage for an owned vehicle, or one day of Premium Account
Event window: July 22 (11:00 GMT) to August 5 (11:00 GMT)
Progress is measured in mission points earned in Ground Battles at Rank III or above across Arcade, Realistic, and Simulator modes. Each stage requires 35,000 mission points; rewards must be collected manually via the in-game "Scimitar Strike" menu.
For players who favour fast, flanking playstyles in ground battles, the Scimitar Mk.2's emphasis on speed and objective capture makes it a functionally distinct addition to Britain's Rank VI roster.
