HellSlave II Reveals Mammon: A Shield-Stacking, Fatigue-Piling Demonic Path

Solo developer Baptiste has outlined the Mammon Demonic Path for HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon, the fifth in a series of previews covering the game's six selectable demon allegiances.

After clearing the first dungeon, players choose one of six paths — Satan, Leviathan, Mammon, Baal, Asmodeus, or Belzebub — and that choice is permanent for the run. Each path grafts a fixed spell set onto whatever base class the player is already running.

What Mammon Brings

Mammon is framed as a defensive, magic-oriented path built around shields, resistances, and a debuff called fatigue:

• Tyrant's Lightning Bolt — deals bonus damage scaled to current shield points
• Fascination — deals bonus damage scaled to resistance and armor points
• Golden Shield of Mammon — generates shield points equal to a portion of damage dealt
• Supreme Execution — if the killing blow lands on a target, it simultaneously deals magic damage to all remaining enemies
• Crushing the Weak — applies fatigue to enemies already low on health
• Destruction of the Idle — damage increases for each second of fatigue on the target

The design intent, as described in the announcement, is a self-reinforcing loop: dealing damage builds shielding, shielding amplifies further damage, and fatigue stacking makes weakened enemies progressively easier to finish.

For players inclined toward tanky, attrition-based playstyles, Mammon appears to offer a coherent mechanical identity — provided they can survive long enough to let the synergies compound.
