War Thunder's Guardian of the Baltic Sea Event Offers Soviet Battleship Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya

What's happening

From August 13 (11:00 GMT) to August 27 (11:00 GMT), War Thunder's Guardian of the Baltic Sea event tasks players with earning mission points in Naval Battles to unlock staged rewards — chief among them the battleship Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya.

The ship has genuine historical weight. Originally launched in October 1911 as Gangut — named after the Russian Empire's first naval victory — she was refitted in 1925 and renamed. During the Second World War she shelled German positions near Leningrad from Kronstadt, survived repeated Luftwaffe bombing raids, and contributed to lifting the Siege of Leningrad in 1943 before supporting Soviet Baltic operations through the summer of 1944.

What changed

The event vehicle arrives as a USSR Rank V battleship, modeled in her post-war modernized configuration:

• Enhanced anti-aircraft battery and radar reflecting her late refit
• Described as having no glaring weaknesses, with a strong broadside and solid protection
• A tall superstructure that aids long-range targeting and houses part of her AA armament
• Effective main-battery shells suited against cruisers and capable against other battleships

Additional rewards include a "Battleship Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya" decal, a "First Flag of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Fleet" ship flag, and a dedicated loading screen. A reward chest also offers Silver Lions (50,000–100,000), Silver Lion and Research Point boosters, and random Wagers and Orders.

She is the fourth and final ship of the Sevastopol class in the game — a complete lineage for players invested in Soviet naval history.
